SAVE THE DATE FOR "CAUSE FOR THE PAWS" 2010 - SUNDAY, JULY 25, 2010!

"Cause for the Paws" drew a fun-loving crowd of 1,000 to The Grove at Silverado Resort on Sunday, July 19th, 2009.  Undaunted by one of the warmest days of the season, loyal supports opened their hearts—and their wallets—to help raise $140,000 for Napa Humane’s Spay/Neuter Clinic, an increase of over $15,000 from 2008! 

The rapid-fire bid calling of virtuoso auctioneer Richard Pio Roda and with Rely Pio Roda and Gina Pio Roda inspiring the bidders, spirited competition during the live auction attracted many generous offers for the fabulous wine country experiences, getaways and exclusive Napa Valley wines donated for the event. In addition,  a fantastic range of items were offered at the silent auction, from pet items, dining certificates, and spa pampering, to private winery tours and tastings, and were also quickly snapped up by savvy bidders eager to support Napa Humane. 

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers whose efforts ensured the success of “Cause for the Paws," as well as those ticket buyers who simply wanted to enjoy an afternoon of great live music, fabulous wines, and tasty food in one of Napa Valley’s most beautiful settings in support of companion animals. More than 40 wineries and over 26 culinary purveyors poured wine and offered delicious fare to the appreciative gathering.

Of the 20 adoptable dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs with us from the Napa County Animal Shelter attending the "Cause," almost all have found their new forever homes!

Proceeds from this year's event support the programs and services of Napa Humane's Spay/Neuter Clinic.  In the first half of this year we have performed 2,080 spay/neuter surgeries, implanted 840 microchips, and vaccinated 1,296 companion animals at our Friday drop-in vaccination clinics.
